Epilepsy is one of such disease where selectively acting drugs are still lacking. Current drug therapy for epilepsy suffers from a number of disadvantages including the fact that the convulsions of approximately 25% epilepsies are inadequately controlled by medication. Oxadiazole have often been described as bio-isosters for amide & esters. Due to increase hydrolytic & metabolic stability of Oxadiazole ring improved pharmacokinetic & in-vivo performance is often observed, which makes these heterocyclic as important structural motif for the Pharmaceutical industry. Based on review of literature Oxadiazole is important compound for anticonvulsant activity, so this compound may be modified for better activities. Some modifications will made in the structure of Oxadiazole, so it will increase the effectiveness and reduce the side effects, thus it increase the protective index, and helpful in future.
